Mrs. Monya Peppers
My name is Monya (Frachiseur) Peppers, and I am the Speech-Language Pathologist for Susan Moore Elementary School. I am a 1992 graduate of SMHS, and I'm thankful to work and live in the community where I grew up. I received my undergraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Montevallo in 1996, and a Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Alabama A&M University in 2011. I currently hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) at the national level with ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) as well as an Alabama License through ABESPA (Alabama Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology) to practice Speech-Language Pathology. I taught preschool and kindergarten at Mt. Pleasant Christian Kindergarten from 1999 - 2007. I worked as Speech-Language Pathologist in Marshall County at Douglas and Claysville Elementary Schools from 2008 - 2017. I think building communication skills in our students is an investment in our students' futures as well and our community's future. I love my students and my job!
I have been married to my husband, Kevin (also an SMHS graduate), for 25 years and we have two sons. John is a graduate student at Auburn University pursuing a Master of Science degree in Crop and Soil Sciences with a concentration in turf grass research. Garrett is a sophomore at the University of Alabama majoring in Software Engineering. Although our house is divided on Saturdays in the Fall, we love to travel and spent time together.
